FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Reindell Cole (Las Vegas, Nev./Desert Pines HS) continued his amazing freshman season as he won the men's long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center at the University of Arkansas on Friday, Mar. 14. Cole follows DaShalle Andrews who was the 2007 NCAA Outdoor champion in the men's long jump to give Cal State Northridge back-to-back NCAA long jump titles. "That's an amazing accomplishment for a freshman," said Matador Director of Track & Field Don Strametz. "What a great job by (jumps coach) Avery Anderson and what a tribute to Reindell." Cole out-jumped a talented long jump field by posting the fifth-best mark in the world on his first attempt. Cole posted a career-best 26-7.75 (8.12) on his first jump then held off all challengers the rest of the way. Washington's Norris Frederick, who has traded the top collegiate mark this season with Cole, came in second at 26-2.75 (7.99). Read the full article at: gomatadors.cstv.com
