Kiptoo Adds 3rd Place In NCAA XC To Indoor 5,000 Title; Wildschutt, Roe Top-4 In Both; Norris Fourth In Two Events

By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

Picking one championship or the other appeared to be the right move, at least for most of the top finishers in Monday's grueling cross country championship in Stillwater, Okla.

It was a one-of-a-kind opportunity, but only a few had a successful run at both events.

All of Monday's winners remained cross-country focused.

But Iowa State's Wesley Kiptoo and Florida State's Adriaan Wildschutt pulled off great weekend doubles, and so did Taylor Roe of Oklahoma State, Mahala Norris of Air Force, Bethany Hasz of Minnesota and Hannah Steelman of North Carolina State.

Here is a look at the distance runners who tried to tackle both NCAA championships within four days.
